.....why cant we all just like what we like you guys like yaoi ( but i dont want to assume) and we like this stuff for some unknown reason so like becomes friends not enemies.
I definitely agree that people should not be bashing those who like to read straight smut. However people who dont normallt read the genre should still be allowed to criticize problematic elements. This story had so much sexual assault and just creepy things going on, that people are of course going to criticize.
I dont agree with the people saying that stories like this is why they only read yaoi, because I feel like this contributes to the fetishization of gay men. As someone who reads a lot of yaoi and yiro, I will say that those genres do have a chunk of stories just like this story in many ways.
Basically I'm saying we should be allowed to criticize media, without tearing others who enjoy or disagree with it.
