I mean I can definitely understand why it seems fishy, especially because of the age gap. It leads people to think things like “oh they only got a good grade cuz they’re with the professor.” However, every story has two sides, so I also recognize that there could be some completely innocent relationships.
A lot of universities/colleges actually have rules against professors/teachers dating students. It's not inherently illegal if both parties are of legal age and the relationship is done without manipulation but more than likely, they (the couple) will get looked down upon by their peers and colleagues. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
