don't get me wrong, this story isn't terrible! it's just there's a lot to nitpick here and there. first of all, how tf does the mc not realize the white knight is her husband?? she immediately noticed the hurt finger but didn't connect the dots??? the mc is smart but also stupid at the same time. second, the highkey historical mindset is very annoying. they legit just give a girl a pearly white face and call her beautiful. yes, it's because in asian culture, the more tan you are the more it shows you work in the fields and that's why ppl prefer girls and men with less tan skin, but come onnnnnn. it's making ppl feel embarrassed to have blemishes and freckles when i feel like it would be powerful if the mc helped the ppl gain confidence in their own appearance. third, there's just a lot of tiny plot holes dude. like couldn't they go to the empress downager after xiao was hurt by the consort and empress to kill two birdies with one stone? and at some moments in the story, xiao just disappears completely and i'm like ????. plus, what happened with the emperor liking the mc? did he just back off after she escaped???
overall, a lot of things to nitpick at but i'm still reading bc.. well idk. i guess it's cause i wanna see this story end and even tho i nitpick at this story a lot, i still enjoy it occasionally at some moments.
