He 'gave birth' to Hyesung in the sense that he is the father. It may sound weird when translated into english but in many asian languages fathers also refer to their kids as someone they gave birth to as per the context of the situation. Also, he is an alpha and his wife and Hyesung's mother an omega. He did mention that she got together with another alpha later on.
