Its cuz the anime was based off of a bad ending from the og game. I dont think the manga is a one for one of the game either though
i believe this manga takes inspiration from the anime and the game. the most accurate manga for the game is Corpse party: Blood Covered (the only characters killed there are the ones set to always die by the book of shadows, another version of the manga)
I never realized how different the anime was to the manga!
