Honestly, I do think her father gave her the dagger to protect herself, but he had scarred her so bad and neglected her to the point she felt he meant for her to kill herself. I feel bad for her. He has a terrible way of “showing love” I understand if he couldn’t let himself be controlled by the empire, but his child suffered because of his ways and to that end, I don’t feel sorry for him. I wish he’d talk to her. I wish he would LET HER KNOW. She’s not helpless enough that you can’t even do that.
