Disappointed

Kanna February 5, 2016 11:37 am

I was disappointed, because I rarely see manga where it's centered around pregnancy and a baby, and I was excited.

1.) She quit her job. I was expecting her to be a strong independent woman who could prove she could try and make it without relying on Ben. But, it's like the first sign of trouble and she accepted her free card.

2.) That dancer-dream/abuse thing felt thrown in there. If it was going to be included, I feel like it should've been introduced earlier and referred to again later in the story.

3.) It was a little disappointing that she didn't talk to the baby. It didn't feel so much like she loved the baby, but more that she wanted to use the baby as a way to connect her to Ben.

4.) Ben got over his sadness way too suddenly. There were times were I felt like they might connect, but it was so brief, there was no time for an actual relationship to develop.

5.) Why would she walk straight into the reporters. Like, she didn't wait for night, or try to use the backdoor...she just left through the front door with all the reporters...what was she thinking?

*sigh* If anyone knows a BETTER pregnancy/baby manga, let me know!

me too, she only wanted to live a lazy and luxurious life and the baby is her ticket lottery, I think she don't even care about the baby, it is her pass to attach a rich man, she don't even try to work again or study or to be independent woman somehow, for her is more easy to live a expenses of a rich man. Horrible woman, horrible story, more crap harlequin's. Always the woman!!!!!! and almost all their stories the woman are stupid, weak trash, why??????? men are not.

I agree with you. Also I didn't feel like she was in love with him. And I was hoping to see something about the relationship between Ben and his wife. But nothing, she seemed to be a gold digger, too naive, too weak.

I don't know about you guys, but choosing between working over 50 hours a week while pregnant over staying at the luxurious mansion, I guess the answer's obvious

Same. If your working with chemicals (cleaning believe me) it's not good for the child.

Also if you're not used to the press why would you expect them to be there, she was trying to leave, though I don't know what time (early morning?) but if its the paparazzi wouldn't they be there 24/7 and maybe she thought they left.

I don't know if she didn't want to work, maybe he didn't want her to since something happened to his 1st child and wife. So he became over protective.

I like to give harlequin manga the benefit of the doubt since they always seem to cut the stories to a few chapters when the original is defiantly a full book. kind of like trying to describe what happened to you for a whole month in only one or two hours, so you pick what you thought was important and the rest is lost.
`Though I'd love it if they were longer.

You know, being pregrant is not easy.... you can't overwork ypur body cause it'll affect the baby. Doctors always recommends pregrant women to have lots of rest you know..... maybe you should ask or search first..... just saying........ ( ̄へ ̄)

You can keep working during your pregnancy. Usually doctors will take you off work 2-4 weeks before your due date; some women even continue working right up to their due date. There will be weight restrictions especially in the second-third trimester, but it's actually recommended for pregnant women to exercise and move around.

The point is, if he didn't offer to take care of her, it's not like she could have just quit anyway. She would have had to figure something out. But it seemed liked she used the baby as "her ticket outta here".

I think you really misunderstood her..if you have work in real life for more than 50 hours and pregnant maybe I can rethink but..I tell you I have work more than 50 hours a week (not pregnant) and it is tiring..yes..pregnant women should move around and do some exercise so they can deliver the baby much easier..but it a moderate exercise not a work that requires you to clean and handle chemicals more than 50 hours a week..

She threw in the towel WAAAAY early in her pregnancy before she experienced any of that. Also, people don't always have some rich husband willing to take care of her every need. It IS possible to figure something out and make it work; there is always a way. It'd be hard, but life is just that way sometimes. She just chose the easy way without even trying. That's why people look down on her. Not to mention that honestly, the vibe I get from reading this made me think she really doesn't even care that much about the baby. It felt more like she wanted it because it was HIS baby, than because it was HER baby.

I have had to work 60 hour weeks while pregnant as long as possible because I was broke :) So I do understand really, and that's why I'm really ripping on her. It's annoying how easy she got off, when she didn't even try. Hell yeah, it's freaking hard, but you do it anyway because it's what you need to do. I feel like, if she TRIED to find another job, or maybe talked to more people about her baby, than I wouldn't have been as disappointed in her for solely relying on that man. At least then she would have tried. But she didn't.
