I agree. As much as I am thankful for all these adaptations, I will always go back with the novel. The feelings can be felt(Exiled Rebels did a great job on that translation).
In terms of the adaptations, I must say audio drama is the closest one then the manhua. The manhua has a very fast pacing and a little lighter because they omitted some details and made it cute(chibis) but so far it has the same route as the novel.
Last is the other adaptations. The drama and donghua are just the same levels for me. While they follow some parts, they omitted and added some parts too. Still, they're all good.
Yeah they're all good in their own way even though the story usually changes a little. I will always prefer the novel but I adore all versions.

Please read the novel. The manga rushes things in order to not drag the story. You miss a lot of important details. Also the last scene is not accurate from what I remember.
The manga version is still enjoyable but you are missing out. The novel is also super steamy so give it a go!
