I am absolutely in love with this "trilogy" where the first series worked through a lot of Alita/Gally's identity crisis and love for her friends sometimes running away from her problems, but always returning to face them again. Last Order still had Alita/Gally work through some of her identity crisis, but with emphasis on a larger scale visiting the themes what defines a "human", "cyborg", and "robot." The fight scenes were kicked up a notch too. As of right now, this current series lacks the manga-ka's usual psychological philosophy, but given how early in the series this is, perhaps there are more in store.
