Ok hear me out- I'm too lazy to read the novel but my guess is that before she was reborn, like the life where she died, max and her father wanted to overthrow the king. She was a weakness and I think her life is linked to the ring of the king (felt like it was being hinted at) and I mean probably linked with magic. Soooo accusing her of poisoning and bringing her to that no magic prison, she is safe! Max aka crown Prince would "torture" her but actually set her free or something, that's probably why he yelled stop when she killed herself. All in all a pretty solid plan, except the part where she killed herself hah. I'm low-key annoyed they didn't let her on the plan bc who wouldn't be broken after being falsely accused even by your dad, but she was also not hmm let's say "mature" y'know so there was risks if she knew the plan, so I'm like ya ok fair point
