Until chapter 49 it's bittersweet/sad, in chapter 49 they commit suicide together. But after that there is chapter 50 and in that chapter they are reborn and find each other so in the end it's not sad. Sorry for bad grammar (￣∇￣") my own comment that it's one of the best yaoi/drama manga's.
