I think it will only be clear in the next chapter. You can say it's her way of saying goodbye to Eren and everything his existence was in her life, a savior, a friend, a companion, a person she loved. But honestly, the way this chapter ended and also the strength of her feeling for him, I'm afraid if Eren dies she will end her life, because that clearly was not a goodbye in her mind, more like joining him.

Anyways, ig it was just to say goodbye to eren, and a closure for her feelings as well. I mean, that's like asking why people hug when greeting each other. They just do lol. Mikasa has romantic feelings for him so it shouldn't be that crazy

Also I think that Eren has much much bigger presence in Mikasa's life than merely a love interest.

i agree. but i don't think mikasa will kill herself because she no longer has him. I mean part of her development was gaining independence and learning to be less reliant on him. Like in season 1 ep 5, when mikasa thought eren died, she held onto her pride and decided to live on to continue her memories of him and to continue fighting, like what Eren taught her to do. This is probably similar to that.

so im super confused with the final panel in the latest chapter, why did mikasa kiss erens (beheaded) head??/???/////// like i understood that she had romantic feelings towards eren but the kiss scene was quite suprising for me. like, can someone please explain the meaning of the kiss and stuff???
