Totally. But I think in these stories it's more about how the victimized characters survive rather than about how their tormentors are punished. I'm curious to see what she does with this one-- every time she tries something edgy and weird it's kind of exciting. Like that one shot I can't seem to find all of a sudden about the seemingly angelic lil' moppet who attacks his delinquent classmate in the nurse's office and turns out to be a sadistic seme. It's the stuff you don't expect and don't see coming that make for a good story. AND THAT ART.
Yeah. Kind of reminds me how rape and sex abuse was treated before the 80s when the stigma of such decreased. I mean, it's still bad, even ub the U.S., and the justice system is fucked. But it's treated better than it was in the past when you see old tv shows, movies, or even such based in those times. It was just unspoken and it eats people alive if they have no way to express it. Now, there are options for people, help groups, etc.
I'm getting bad vibes from the story and I'm hoping I'm wrong. That kid...he sounds pretty psychopathic and has a fixation on his onii-chan. Then the master... How the fuck do all those workers not know? Not say? Not try to help? It's icky, but I just hope the kid fins happiness. Oh and doesn't kill the kid out of jealousy...either.
I know, right?! The employees are probably thinking "hey, none of my business what the boss does, as long as it ain't me!" And historically, rich people just get away with everything, especialmente in feudal systems such as Japan. Sexual abuse is rampant in every society, but it is dealt differently in every culture, but luckily it is getting better for the victims, at least in the US. Not quick enough, though.
I feel the same way!
I really want that master punished. It was really killing me when the employee woman was saying the boys look so cute together, they look like brothers. And the new boy is happy because he doesn't know what's going to happen to him.
Adults must not trample on children's innocence and destroy their hearts like that. So sad...
Basically, I think yaoi mangas should be rated over 18 or sometimes even 20. I'm Japanese but I think it's crazy how sensational they are. I think to myself, just make them rated over18 and stop doing white out sensoring.
Wikipedia sez:
"The Japanese Penal Code sets a minimal age of consent of 13. However, the Children Welfare Act chapter 34 forbids any act of "fornication" (淫行) with children (here defined as anyone under 18 years of age) with prefectures and districts specifying further details in (largely similar) "obscenity ordinances" (淫行条例) like adding exemptions for sex in the context of a sincere romantic relationship (typically determined by parental approval).
The age of marriage is 16 for girls and 18 for boys, with parental consent, or 20 otherwise."
I think there's a definitely dark side to the casual acceptance of how the world works reflected in the phrase しょうがない (can't be helped) and manga definitely romanticizes a lot of questionable behavior my making it cute in appearance or using artfully arranged/cropped panels. A lot of female mangaka that I like seem to be poking fun at these behaviors or exploring them in a more sensitive way, but at the same time I can't help but think that if they maybe stopped writing these stories and making them a fun thing that it might help people get a little perspective. I like a good story but at the same time I'm aware that we're being entertained by fictional characters abusing each other really horribly and talking about how great the art is or how hot this or that character is. It's a little weird.
You're right. I would honestly be thrilled if Sensei ended this one with a good ol' fashioned castration rather than two ruined kids. Or the lil' one effing up the bigger one. We'll see.
And I goofed: The oneshot wasn't Hayakawa it was Hideyoshico. In my defense their styles are a leetle similar. I'm sure Hayakawa has more adult stuff out there and we're only seeing a taste of it-- gotta check out her BakaUpdates page.
Anyway, that oneshot is here: http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/high_school_lullaby/
Brace yourself. I spoiled it but honestly you're not going to be ready for that kid. He's. scary.
In all yaois I read, the one from this chapter was the only (badly) punished. http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/kobi_no_kyoujin/mf/sa-c008/pg-1/
I agree! There are certainly manga that are not appropriate for children and, as such, should be separate from those geared towards adults. And as adults, we know what's adequate, so there is no need to babysit our eyes.
┑( ̄Д ̄)┍We know what genitals look like, for crying out loud. That's why adult manga should be, as you say, rated 18, and forget the stupid white out!

I just wish that the authors would actually punish all the fucking pedophiles they keep writing about in their mangas, these old bastards always rape the kids and they never get punished. Please, sensei, give this nasty bastard some horrible painful death. PLEASE!!!
