Interesting. I'm find in most yaois that the men don't have enough muscles and I love muscles. For what they are, people who have muscles are strong, they can protect you and to get the muscles you need dedication and hard work. As well as awesome appetite and nutrition. I love my men well built I can intimidated when they're skinny I feel like I have to protect them. But each to their own.

When it comes to girl x boy, it's totally fine and almost like a must for the guy to be muscular.

i've probably read a lot of manga but i can say in the BL world asami is built and just fine. he does not belong to the overly muscular or beefy group. he doesn't have facial hair even. are you somehow young in age? mostly students and new grads have the same reaction. or new fujoshis.
for now, i say that you focus more on reading school life stories instead of these matured ones since those mangas have the slight build that you are looking for.

Well, if you prefer looking two "girly" persons, maybe it would be better for you to read yuri mangas (I like that genre too), but if I want to see two boys I prefer them looking like men. :)

However I've been a yaoi fan for years now so I guess easing into it I can see why two big muscly men are a bit too much. I like asami and aki pairing you can tell they're both men. I wish aki had a little bit more muscle and asami had bigger arms to balance his image more, But they're perfect just the way they are

i see a fair amount of fujoshis like that too. why not just read shoujo. best bet are the gangly teenaged boys or the mangaka with shoujo-ish styles.

I like some androgynous characters and pretty boys (I had a crush on David Bowie back in the day), but I usually like a swimmers build. I usually do not care for the bara style of bulky hairy guys, but there could be exceptions. I like a nice body and snarky attitude. For example, I prefer Deadpool to Colossus and Spiderman to The Hulk. Or maybe I should say I would prefer Fei to Yuri and Koruda to Mitarai. I'm not saying big guys gross me out, but they are not usually my type.

PS Do you know any yuri with athletic, active, and witty girls? Maybe I haven't read enough, but I seem to find what I call "bubble boobs" or really girly girls who are "cute" and emotional.
