I think the cut off midsentence was "Could he... be a dragon?" Cause right before that the MC was thinking about how the guy had closed himself off from everyone, that is, everyone except the MC. And we saw a few chapters ago that another dragon recluse approached the MC due to the fact that he's the key. Based on that, it seems the dragons all take an interest in the keys, plus this guy is from the 1st generation, meaning that in actuality he might have already been there before the 1st humans and no one except the other 1st generation humans would know. I could be wrong though ╮(￣▽￣)╭
