The ending was that it was supposed to have given insight to why Sasuke wanted to become stronger and the last page was Sasuke with the cursed seal, showing he would use all his power for Naruto.
I thought that because sasuke is afraid of loosing naruto.When he saw naruto fell over the tall cliff,he just lost his mind,then he realized he did not have the ability to protect naruto.And you know there is a kyubi sealed in naruto's body,the organization akatsuki wanna get that.So if sasuke want to protect naruto well,he should vanquish the enemy,but he is not strong enough to defeat them,so he will be away from naruto for geting power to protect naruto when he comes back(づ￣ ³￣)づ
