Don't care about the son's stories. The situation with the Dads though is so terribly sad all round. It's sad that the Dad's were so cowardly and still are. They got married to women and got them pregnant, due to social norms, and have spent all that time emotionally cheating on their wives. In fact the wives are almost completely removed from this story as is most often the case with these types pf plots!

The Dad's could have remained "single" for appearances, but they didn't. They could have been true to themselves and been the first "out" politicians, but they didn't. Little has changed legally in Japan, but hopefully today this culture of gay men marrying women isn't as prevalent.

Exactly. I thought the dads situation was just a misunderstanding and I'll end up laughing, but no that didn't happen. At first it annoyed and angered me that they cheated and are still currently cheating, but reading your comment it actually sounds really sad. They were cowardly and hurt not only themselves but also their wives. And if this had a reality check, most likely the children wouldn't take it THAT easily. But at the same time I can't fault their cowardice due to how things are

I agree with you. At first I though they were both single dad and that there wifes has pass away or divorce. But the moment I found out the wifes was still living with them :) and why was the sons reaction to their dads cheating so nonchalant??? The story trying to make it all so cute and wholesome, and disregard the women entirely is just terrible
