the blonde wanted to be depended on, to be needed, the blonde wanted to be relied on by the insecure dark haired and as they started going out, the dark haired may have thought that she needs to change, needs to become better, suitable, worthy for the blonde despite knowing she doesnt have to, and that impacted blonde the wrong way maybe because she wanted the dark haired to continue being same insecure, helpless girl, since if the dark haired stay the same she would rely on the blonde.

breaking up wasn't the best solution, but maybe the blonde did that because she felt that she isn't needed anymore since the dark haired is doing better.
the blonde may have some problem in her home like being labeled useless or stuffs and the dark haired relying on her may have filled whatever needs fulfilment in her, and since the dark haired is doing better she felt like she isn't needed anymore, and therefore broke up with her so that she won't be hurt furthermore (by what i mean by hurt is that since she'll become 'useless' and not 'needed' to the dark haired and thus maybe the dark haired will point this out to the blonde [therefore, this could is advance thinking]) so the blonde run away afraid of getting hurt and instead hurting the dark haired.
