The means of coercion included are: violence, blackmail, use of intoxicating substances or drugs, confinement or restraints and threats of death or bodily harm to the victim or victim's family. In other words, if you blackmail someone into sleeping with you, even if they agree to do it, it's still a criminal act of sexual assault. If you slip someone drugs and they agree to sleep with you, you're guilty of sexual assault. If you threaten to kill someone's mother if they don't sleep with you and they agree, you're guilty of sexual assault. Maybe it's different outside the US, but here you can't have eye contact with a stranger without the fear of having sexual assault charges filed against you.

This is clearly a case of victims mentality after the horrific act, if you ever read on rape victims and their mental state afterwards you would see that in a lot of cases the victims defend their assailant/s by saying things like " if only I was dressed properly... or not there at that time..."
And really he was traumatized and to have his lover show up immediately afterwards was adding to his distress as at that time he clearly wanted to go home and be comforted by him and besides he already paid the blackmail and thought the rapist would uphold his end of the deal.
