t was a very long time since I read this fanfiction and begins to suspect that it has been deleted, but it's worth a try.
Naruto during his youth lived with the Uchiha as an unofficial family member, and later in the story tells that he has held all the newborns of the Uchiha (except Sasuke). He apparently died by protecting a member of the Uchiha, and became immortal(?). Because of his role as jinchuuriki of kyuubi and seen as a deadly weapon/threat, so the other clans did not appreciate that a weapon (Naruto) was loyal to the Uchiha (do not remember why, but they are hated and feared). So for unknown reason (hinted at protecting naruto) Fugaku sends Naruto away, which makes Naruto never meet Sasuke.
I think the story begins with Jiraiya and Tsunade disagrees with the leaders of every clan (Inuzuka, Nara, Hyuga etc.), with who will lead them all. But despite Naruto inherited the title, he is excluded from the discussion because his role as jinchuuriki. However Jiraiya and Tsunade has secretly contacted Naruto, and he arrives at the meeting. Remember no specific details, except that the kyuubi can change its physical shape between a small fox and a big demonfox. And Naruto and Kyuubi are friends.
Sasuke and Naruto (with kyuubi's help) talks about the meaning of the jinchuuriki in a library. And the last thing I remember is that Hinata and Neji asks Naruto for help with their clan, and when they arrive Naruto is mocked to death by sacrificing himself (protecting Uchiha). I'm 90% sure it is a SasuNaru, and I think the story is written from Sasuke's perspective-ish
