What victim mentality? Trying to be what?! Either you don’t understand her character at all or you’re rejecting it completely because you think of lone wolves as cool, so you don’t want her to be described as such.
If there’s one character who doesn’t have that victim mentality you talk about it in this story, it’s Tendou. She’s only 16, yet despite how harsh her childhood was, she remained a strong and independent young woman who relies on no one but herself. This is something she had to learn to do the hard way after her attempt at friendship ended in disaster and her parents abandoned her. However she didn’t crumble. She stood tall, took a path that she felt was a reflection of who she truly was inside and became a delinquent. How on earth would a character like that have a victim mentality? You’re only thinking she has one either because you actually feel that she should or because of the way others treats her due to how harsh her life still is.
Plus the way you phrased the lone Wolf makes it seem as though it was sef-titled, yet it’s clear that she’s perceived that way by others because she keeps people at arms’ length. Yes, she can be rude because why should she fold herself in pieces just to cater to someone else’s feelings? Did the part where you saw her grow into that type of person (delinquent type) completely pass you by? Or did you think that she should automatically change simply because Tsubasa is genuinely trying to be friends with her? She rejected Tsubasa’s friendship a few times already, yet Tsubasa keeps coming for more. But Tendou should still be nice about it? Lol, give me a break.
I can understand people not liking Tendou’s personality. I personally never felt like she was meant to be liked; just understood. But these arguments you brought up just irked me, so I had to address them.

It is to me. I’m an aspiring writer myself so I hate when whole characters are disregarded like there’s no real depth to them.

Perhaps since this series has not been as frequently updated and the plotline with tendou has been going on for so long, it's caused me to really just dread hearing about this character. Either that or I am just not a big fan of the way the author writes her character. Despite everything she went through, to me personally I'm not feeling that emotional connection I should as the reader towards this character... but perhaps that's due to the way the author has approached her character in of itself and the way I'm perceiving it on my end.
To each their own. I'd just preferably hope we can move on from this plotline and hone in on other details, but spoilers regarding this series say otherwise.

Haha same! I can’t understand people who have such small capacity to understand characters and simply judge them base on their own standers when like the writer had spent 100 chapters explaining their history, their characteristic and thinking.
People here just jump on making funny and witty comment while also bashing characters that are not main lead because they only see the story from the initial view point of the one who first appears in the story. They get too emotionally attached to their initial bond that even if the character does maybe something bad they just can’t be logical about it.

super over the whole tendou plot. she only really thinks of her own feelings and has that lowkey victim mentality, trying to be a cool lone wolf while disregarding others feelings around her. such a turn off for a character. i know at times that sort of trope can be written correctly but the way the author does it for tendou just makes me dislike her. ugh.
