Lezhin has that fucked up issue. They tag shit as "bl" or "yaoi" for advertising purposes, when it has nothing to do with romance or love. It's honesty super frustrating, Cause now there's people that will actually argue killing stalking is a bl, simply because it's tagged under it, when it's very clearly not.
I see a lot of people questioning if this is a yaoi and why it had a yaoi tag... so let me start by saying that KS is tagged as #BL on lezhin (English site) which is probely the reason the uploader put the yaoi tag.
Second a lot of you forget that Yaoi is a genre that describe mangas which is about intim or erotic realationship between men. Not a fluffy and sweet realationship but a sexual one. If you want a manga which focus on the realationship go read shounen ai. But yaoi is a tag you put on stories which includes two guys fucking eachother. The word mean something like “without meaning” as in the story is usually focused on the smut,
To sum it up. Yaoi is = Sex between men. Yaoi isn’t = a loving relationship and fluff (it can be but is the smut that is in focus)
So yaoi is for sex, while shounen ai focus on the realationship.
And we can all agree that Bum and Sangwoo are pretty much in a intim realationship which make it a yaoi.
Yes but the story isn’t about them having sex, the story isn’t just based around them having sex, even if they were in a relationship, that still wouldn’t make it yaoi bc the story is about torture, kidnapping and rape, and it is a psychological thriller where the creator happened to have them in a sexual relationship. Sangwoo isn’t gay and that has been confirmed so this story isn’t even gay in the slightest, Sangwoo used Yoonbum and Yoonbum had an obsession. And that’s it, it was not a yaoi in any way and the creator herself said it wasn’t
Well it still show two men have sex, and a yaoi tag can also be seen as a “warning” is not everyone who wants to read read story where two guys are in a erotic setting... so labeling Yaoi is just away of telling people their will be two guys fucking in it ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ I know it isn’t a romance story, but as I said before yaoi isn’t = romance, is just a story where two men are having sex, it would have been wrong to call this bl or shounen ai.
