again, shit is kinda deeper than that. i’m not excusing his actions, cuz it’s incredibly shitty and dehumanizing, but he was manipulated into that by rosemond, who took advantage of his trauma to do all of her bidding. it’s honestly rosemond’s fault above all.

rosemond manipulated him and guilt tripped him for his trauma which is why he believes in what she has to say, and also she has a terrible backstory too so he related to her in pity.. fl is making him realize what he’s done is wrong and he’s starting to see through rosemond’s lies which i’m glad. i feel the same way too! i hated him in the beginning and didn’t want him to end up with the fl, but now i’m so mixed about it.
i cannot excuse the king’s actions, what his actions have done was hurt our fl, and could’ve potentially hurt the entire kingdom if rosemond became empress due to his negligence.
but he suffered terrible trauma when he was younger, and when some people learn of your trauma, some people such as rosemond take advantage of it to get what they can out of you. rosemond is a manipulator, and disgusting person, the only good thing she’s done in this show was kill her biological family, lol.
