Oh my god I thought I was the only one who doesn't feel the love from Kou it's like he's just going through the motions he and Raiki you really can't tell what either one of them are thinking .
Kou loves Tohya. That was the choice that he made. But even though Tohya knows this, he is still somewhat insecure about their previous lives. Tohya thinks that he is hiding his insecurity well and does not want Kou to think that he is being selfish but I think that Kou knows this so he is assertive in their relationship to assure tohya.
Kou even mentioned that their lives before and their lives now are different. So nothing will change even if others appear from their past.
