Small spoiler: this is a side story in the novel.
In the original timeline, the prince knew she wasn't the real Veronica since he overheard Ren (RedHeadGuy) talking to her. He did love her but the only way he could protect her was by treating her like she was nothing (??) He has always hated the real Veronica and her whole family in both timeline. Anyway, the OG timeline was super sad, apparently when she died he didn't know until after she was dead and walked into her corpse being hung. I'm pretty sure he never gets memories of the first timeline in the main story but this could he changed in the Webtoons.
I actually don’t, contrary to most opinion. I think that there are a lot of misunderstandings and there are a lot of things that happened that I dont blame him much for but thank you!! for responding
