Definitely agree. If you never love yourself, you can't love others. But Yuta was shown to only be passionate about baseball when Ritsu was by his side. It was an emphasis on how their love for baseball was only because they had each other. That's also a nice lesson in itself. We all have hobbies we love to do, but sometimes is it really the hobby we treasure or the time we spent with others through this passion.
I agree with you and appreciate your opinion. You really worded it so well, so i don't know what else so say haha. But i really had this uneasy feeling the whole time. Maybe it just wasn't for me, but it wasn't a bad story all in all.
It was a great story overall, but does someone really need to give up their passion for love? Yuta was so passionate about baseball, but he didn't follow this path. Yes, he choose his path for himself, but he choose it because of Ritsu. It's so hard to find something that you're really passionate about and want to do it for the rest of your life.
And i think it'll be an unpopular opinion, but Ritsu is kinda manipulative. He really made Yuta think that he should give up baseball because of him. Aaand he rented a flat (a flat!!) without talking it over with his partner. I know it's just a manga, but it's not how things should work. We should always choose ourselves first.
