i think it’s from the hebrew/french name iliyan (which is also common in russia as iliya). it’s actually supposed to be spelled with the extra “i” after the “il” but the first translator misspelled it with only one i, so we kept it as Ilyan for consistency. it’s pronounced “ih-l-ih-AH-n”
