I read that part, but it didn't look like he was unhappy. I also like him and I was satisfied with his ending. Although he did become emperor as he wanted, he had a normal life and it mentioned he was recovering (I think mentally)

If that's his canon end I'm actually OK with it too. It's way better than dying or something and as long as he's happy I'm happy. I was afraid he'd get executed or murdered by the Duke or something.
