if they used the bl tag and he was really gay in the novel I would agree with you but nowhere expect for the summary is it mentioned that he was the male lead of a BL which makes sense to say bc legit every other het manhwa states the original novels context as well and I dont think ive ever seen anyone say he was gay, he could easily have been bisexual.
if it turns out they drag it on in every chapter then yes I would maybe consider the author queer-baiting but seeing as its really only a promo and nothing has been done really I think its a bit of a reach to call it that.
I wouldn’t call him gay or straight. He is starved for love and willing to cling to the first person who shows him even a thread of affection. I wouldn’t even call the OG novel a tragic love story. It’s the story of a man obsessed with the first person to show him affection. That person just happened to be a man.
Given the cover and genre, I don’t find it to be queerbait. They’re not "teasing" anyone when they’re straightforward from the very beginning.
Im mean like im not judging, nor feels uncomfortable for like the topic changing sexualities troupes like ‘im only gay for u’ or vice versa cuz that literally happens in yaoi like 50% at at time. What im uneasy about tho is that some authors are really getting used to queerbating, yes i feel like this is kinda queerbaiting using like the bl and yaoi contexts to lure in readers and im not mad abt tho cuz u do wut u gotta do i guess? Tho i feel uneasy, and when u think abt it this is literally like every transmigration story manhwa they just change the roles instead of the orig fl being a girl they turned it into a guy and a tease to yaoi lovers and bl lovers... It’s just my opinion tho soooo
