WARNING IM GONNA SAY SO INSENSITIVE SHIT BEWARE!!!!!!!

Lmao I wish I could say this to the author, sort of. The reason why she stopped making the manga was because someone messaged her saying they were also abused as a child but their experience wasn’t beautiful like this story is. That kinda upsetted the author and thats why she stopped. She felt she wasn’t portraying the story well and some people werent seeing this as a work of fiction that brings light into DV instead of like, confusing fiction with reality. She never wanted to portray romanticizing abuse or making it seem like this was okay. So she stopped drawing the manga but finished the rest of the story via a novel. She is a literature writer now :) I hope one day though she can come back as a mangaka and make something gritty and real like this story again. Plus, i loved the way she drew bruises and wounds hehe~

I'm very late to this and you likely wont see this but i think the author needs to know she didn't do anything wrong. It's not her fault that people thought her manga was making light of DV. It definitely didn't seem like that to me! Im a generally unserious person so ofc i make jokes about this manga with my friends and siblings, BUT i think it's a genuinely beautiful exploration of abuse and victims who dont seem to fit into the "perfect victim" archetype. It's honestly not her fault that people were uncomfortable or the fact they misunderstood the story or the fact people cant separate fiction from reality! Though, I hope she is doing great as a literature author :D
