The ML’s actions are still not excusable. If you identified with her and gave her advice to break away from her family, why would you take that new found freedom from her when you understand her pain? Just because her dad said to make her suffer?? I doubt that was the only way to handle things.
[Lil rant] I’ve been thinking that a lot of authors excuse shitty behaviour from men in these stories with “they had a bad home situation” when they should be able to see that they are inflicting pain on someone who isn’t able to stand on their own. The same way it is done to them. It might be a bit extra for webtoon characters to have more depth and humanity, but it shouldn’t be to hard since we are all human with flaws.
