They both have their own traumas and started to heal little by little after years. They helped each other imo and that's kinda rare in BL like we don't even jump to sex immediately and took care of their traumas first. I'm loving this story already.
I seriously can't get over how understanding and caring eddie is like in other bls after one gets drunk the other will usually use them physically and emotionally. But eddie didn't try to act out of his own and start acting like jay's fucking psychiatrist, he realized how traumatized jay was and he respected that.
