I don't get the ending of the first one can someone please explain

Don’t take my exact word for it, but I’m pretty sure he wanted someone who can’t dream so they somewhat rely on him, or can or can’t dream all the time like him to relate, but when she got the dream he got somewhat mad since he always has dreams and they are unwanted for him...I don’t know if that makes sense or not but I hope it was somewhat helpful
