Because he keep teasing/bulling Scarlet because he is so perfect, childish and bored.
The author makes that prick her natural kryptonite where she can't hit or kick him at all even though it doesn't make sense!
Julius is very rude and disrespectful towards her and we who like Scarlet can't believe she still tolerates him despite the fact she doesn't give a shit about the social norms or patriarchal system...
Well, she spent years tolerating the little brother, who was way worse.
He is an idiot, but he is not bad (I mean, he doesn't harm the weak), and I think that is one of the reasons (main reason, I guess) why she won't hit him.
The other reason is her family, her father and brother asked her to treat well the royal family (or anyone else), the consequences against them could be bad. I think that is why she tries not to get into fights, and just hits when they are a threat to the weak.
That's probably why she is putting up with him.
Is he really bullying her? Teasing her yes, using things she wants to get her to work with him, yes, but bullying? The only reason she sticks around and why she gets so mad at him is because in the end she knows that he's actually doing the right thing. She just wishes he'd stop her from randomly going off on people, and quit using her as a weapon. But truthfully, if she didn't want to do any of this, he couldn't make her and they BOTH know it.
Is he actually harming her? I mean is she really doing anything that she doesn't want to? Does she seem like she is suffering? The man took a bullet for her to protect her. I find it funny how that is so easily forgotten. He isn't using that to force her to do anything, hell he isn't even using her family. All he is doing is being sly and cunning, but not once has he actually forced her to do anything. So yeah, I like him. She knows exactly what he is doing and she has chosen to follow him anyway. These are not the actions of someone being helplessly bullied. Or did you and every one hating on Julius forget what she put up with from her ex? Hell she put up with that abusive bastard for her family, she is working with Julius of her own free will. Yes admittedly he is taking advantage of the fact that she can't hit him, but at most he's teasing her And pissing her off by driving her crazy. But, in the end, they are both getting exactly what they want.
In my case it is not liking le disliking him, but I certainly wouldn't go out with him. That doesn't mean I couldn't be friends with him.
And I am not sure if he really is enjoying his making fun of her. I think he really can't understand his own feelings, as if he had some kind of psychological issue. So he might be trying to get her attention, but then drawing a line because it is too much for him.
I hope he ends up learning a lesson, and I don't care if they end up together or not, both endings could be interesting if they are done well. I think Scarlett shouldn't go out with him as he is now (which s exactly what she is doing), but I don't "hate" him.
You have a point.
I ve never said that she is a helpless bully victim. I am just bothered that Scarlet can't really retaliate against him. She might talk back but at the end of day she is the one feeling pissed.
He took a bullet because the author wanted to make him more redeemable and sympathetic.
I would tolerate Julius more, if we see him actually suffer some consequences or seeing his butt kicked instead of taking amusement of pissing Scarlet off on several occasions.
He is the one who keeps dominating and manipulating the situations.
You also just aknowledge that she can't him back and that he is taking full advantage of it.
Of course, he is lfar ess worse than his little idiot brother/the ex-fiance but he was actually easily to deal with. Julius on the other hand use his superiority and priveledge to deliberately make her angry so he can feel less bored. He had enough chances to be actually kind to her but he chose to toy with her instead.
The problem is the power dynamic between these two.
Since we were talking about cunning sly, cunning and very high intelligent ML prince:
I prefer the MC Prince Cecil in Fiancée's Observation Log of the Self-proclaimed Villainess.
The difference between him and Julius is that we can see character development and relatable human feelings and reactions in Cecil who despite being so perfect and multitalented also clearly showcase sufferings and headaches due to other characters especially by the dumb lovable FL Bertia.
Cecil also saw his FL as an interesting animal or funny toy that could make his life more entertaining. But with time he started to change and treats her more with genuine respect, care and love.
He tease her sometimes but he make it up to her by displaying lots of affections and lovely gesture. His FL's antics causes him often problems nevertheless he still loves her.
Just look at Rachel (SLOW LIFE PRISON) or Melissa (BEWARE OF THE VILLAINESS)!
Do you think these bitches would develop feelings for ML Julius and have to tolerating his arrogance & obnoxious teasing? They might compromise to do business but they wouldn't let him make a fool out of them, would keep their distance from him or making him pay for being disrespectful towards them no matter what.
But at the end we have to agree to disagree.
And how many times have we already seen a romanticized tsundere multitalented seemingly perfect childish bored cruel Prince Alphahole as the ML who likes teasing/bullying/toying the struggling FL and easily undermines the power of the FL...
The crazy masochistic devoted dragon prince warrior as Scarlet's ML would have been a great change for once.

I’ve been gone a while but why does everyone hate Julius?
