It's kind of refreshing that she doesn't know how to spontaneously solve all her problems and actually struggles with her relationships. All these other stories always make the heroine godly smart in a short amount of time. I love that she is trying to learn and recognizes that she needs to be independent. I just think it adds more depth to the story.
