She lived her life being belittled. And she just became Riftan's wife for only a month or so. Comparing her whole life to 4weeks worth of development, i honestly think she's doing great. And realistic too. Nobody would be suddenly great and okay after all she's been through. And i think u can agree too that confidence is soooo hard to build, especially on her case.
please god just stop reading this if ur expecting her to change overnight abuse victims dont just suddenly wake up and go ah my trauma has disappeared and i am now suddenly mary sue herself
as much as i'd like to agree, maxi has been through abuse her entire life. it takes much-needed amounts of time to recover and move past that, and personally, her being the wife of very big and very scary riftan over here adds yet another obstacle she has to go through. just the recent chapter shows that riftan is helping her with her insecurities as much as he is amplifying them. mf deadass told her to shut her mouth when she was trying to perform her duties, which in turn forces her to choke up and return back to her old habits. i'd really like both riftan and her to start developing both as a couple and especially as their own individuals because this right now, this relationship is a little toxic.
but then again, this is just my opinion on this story. i think her development is realistic considering the situation she's in.
If I'm being honest, I find maxi annoying. I know that's how she's been raised and all but she had big room for character development but she only grow in a small amount. It's frustrating and I am annoyed, but I understand she's naturally weak and slow.
