Can we like not use grooming here like #－.－) thats not at all what is happening here. They are both children and from the looks of it they both retain memories. But despite all this grooming is when an adult comforts a child and makes them believe they are the only one the child needs, this can be seen in sexual ways and emotional/physical ways. Its is all mental too as over time the adult will be conditioning the child to believe certain things till they actually believe its true.
