the movie has come out in western cinemas too, but I don't know when it will be released for distribution. I just check once a week tbh *crosses fingers*
I wanna pay for the movie soooo baaaaaaad. But the only thing I can find is a limited edition blu ray set, and given the way I live my life now I haven't had a TV or a DVD player in years so... IDEK. I might just buy the thing coz i love this series so freaken much but stream the movie somehow????? IDEK 100X
I saw the movie in theatres. I'm pretty certain they'll release a DVD version, so just hang tight. All the translating is done, you know. So just like the tiger and bunny movie and the K project movie were released in theatres and then later put up on streaming sites/made into dvd merch, the same will happen for doukyuusei. After the movie came out in theatres, it was pretty certain. Aniplex has the rights to it, and there not such an indie company that they're hurting for money and will refuse to release it after the theatre showings. Just a matter of time ^^

I even didn't know it was a movie, I thought it was an anime with some episodes. So thank you all. I hope it will come very soon, so i'd can buy the dvd after (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

It was exactly like the manga. I thought parts of it were kind of rushes, as far as the suspense element that nakamura-sensei effortlessly puts into her panelling style. But overall, it was charming, relatable, faithful to the original, and it made my heart hurt at times. I wanted the atmospheric and aesthetic elements of the whole work to be reved up a bit more, i'm not exactly sure how I would have changed the execution, but it did end up feeling just a tad sweet than the manga, and not quite as passionate. Probably because the pacing was so episodic, and the issues of their relationship flew by, one by one, without the quality of pain, distilling, and ''is this the end of our relationship'' dooms that the manga had. Overall, for an indie film it was commercial, but still pretty accurate. I respect it for that and I'd buy it just for how momumental it is in representing just how far BL has come as a genre.
