I can understand that...

...you can fall out of love, it is sad but unfortunately it can't be helped. You can't force someone to love. In this story I understood it was more like a passing whimp. But what a harsh way to explain your feelings to your partner by saying, one day out of the blue: "Hey, we've been going out for 3 years, I kinda don't feel like it anymore, how 'bout we go back to being just friends?" "Oh, but can we still live together? At least until I save up enough money to move". What a jerk, haha. I am happy he eventually tasted his own medicine.

Many people said Kidaka cheated on Kazu, I understand he "betrayed" his feelings: Kazu was still really in love with the seme (he felt it was like a nightmare he would wake up from soon), it was done without warning and even without properly considering the uke's feelings, not that I want to defend the seme's behavior, but both parties agreed on breaking up before the seme started to bring back girls and fool around. So technically no, he did not cheat.
But the uke's feelings were trampled, I am happy he got his revenge (many yaois with betrayal or cheating themes are left with a feeling of great unsatisfaction, because the betrayal was taken lightly or the cheater got off lightly).

I don't think it's so much "falling out of love." I think in this context...it's not appreciating what you have. When you lose it...you realize just how much that thing or person meant to you.
