There are a lot of those who have this kind of trauma who aren't able to seek help because they thought it was normal or they are afraid no one will believe them, the ones who they trusted to tell it will shut them up or they'll be disgusted. So they'll just keep it in instead, try to act like they usually do and do anything just to keep them away from remembering it yet occasionally having a nightmare about it and breakdown whenever triggered. It's heartbreaking but it's reality. If you can save someone from it then do it, if you can listen, comfort and reassure them it's not their fault, do it. You may think it's not much but it makes a difference and that's what matters. Treat people with kindness.
