Idk about you guys, but even a coward like me would have said all those things to the person i liked, if i truly wanted them to stay. Like it's fine if you don't have great communication skills (because mine are horrendous), But i also know that sometimes you need to say what you mean because no one can read your mind. Idk i might just be dumb, and reading to much into it
