let’s talk about the male lead’s trauma trigger warning : rape, phobia of women, so on and so forth
so i understand that the male lead was raped and hurt both physically and mentally. i want to clarify before i post this that i do not support this whatsoever and i’m not trying to put the blame on the male lead nor am i not validating anyone that went through these experiences.
a trauma isn’t an excuse to abuse both your wife and daughter. it’s not an excuse or a reason to get away with it. a trauma is something horrifying happening in your life, a terrible experience you wish you could just get rid of. but the way people are making it sound like is an excuse. yes, the male lead went through the some bad shit in the past; but are we forgetting the fact that he did the same abuse that he experienced as well ??? (and no i don’t mean the rape). when someone goes through an experience like that, they usually become a VICTIM not an ABUSER. granted, he has a phobia of women, and he couldn’t just tell her that?? and why couldn’t he just send her letters telling his phobia so that she doesn’t misinterpret. and yes, he went through horrifying things; but becoming someone who neglects both his wife and daughter, acts as if they never exist, and abusing them both mentally and emotionally isn’t a ‘fear’. the way people are making his trauma sound like is as if it was just an excuse to abuse people all you want. let me put you in a situation. if a women rapes, hurts, and injures a man, but she was also raped and hurt in the past, you think that the police would just let her go ? no. they’d still arrest her for what she did and put her on trial. a trauma isn’t an excuse.
but this is just my opinion, you don’t have to agree. and if you want to refute my comment, please email me and don’t comment on this cause it’s tiring responding continuously and might even get ignored.
