I don't know why you're saying "seme" and "uke", it was shounen-ai. If you're using seme to refer to the man, that was a ten year period, he's not a jerk for choosing not to remain single throughout his entire adolescence and early adulthood. It's creepy that he loved a child all that time. The mangaka should have made them closer in age.
1. Shounen ai and yaoi arent terms used anymore. They were used in the 80’s to refer to the pioneer works of bl and had nothing to do with “one has sex and the other has not”. I can link you some sources if you’d like. Nowadays we just use bl with smut and bl without smut.
2. I just used uke and seme cause I cant memorize their names, and the terms aren’t used just when there is smut in the work. Its just used overall to refer to men in a relationship that are passive or dominante. Its just a term used in japan so the bl community uses it as well.
3. Yes I definitely agree the age gap should have been a lot smaller since he was 15 and the boy was 5, like who tf falls in love with a 5 years old while being a teenager??? The boy should have also been 18 instead of 15 when they got together. But I still dont understand why he would go out with others while being in love with the uke? Thats why I said it had potential cause the idea of a childhood friend is good but id change multiple things like:
A) id make the age gap a lot smaller like at least 5 years (preferably less)
B) instead of promising to marry the boy at 15, make the promise of doing it at 18
C) since the age gap would be a smaller it wouldnt be creepy that he loved him or waited for him without going out with others

I wish the third story would have been longer tho. Also is it just me or the seme was kind of a jerk going out with other girls even tho he had feelings for the uke. Like sure he wouldn’t know the uke still had feelings for him... but still. Thats why it was my least favorite one but it had potential.
