When it starts, one of the main characters is being sexually tortured so that he'll give up information on his team members. The main character is in a relationship with another member of his team. It's during a time of war because the general of the other side decides to lock up the main character's team. He even rapes the main character in front of his lover. During the time of captivity, the other war general keeps the main character in a special luxury room and the other generals look down on this behavior. In fact, the same general releases the main character and tells him to wait for him. After a year or two, the general returns and says the reason it took so long is because he was arrested for the coup he planned. The general and the main character stay together at this point.
