I think the black death is much scarier than covid. Plus they already have a culture/religions where a medicine god and priests have high authority
Also due to the growing praise from the medicine working , they have no choice but to have faith that it will work.
i the author put a scene where some of the citizens refused to wear masks and take medicine because they have their "traditional herbs" it would be more realistic to what's happening right now lmao
