me too. love triangles are so played out. and the fact is this was totally Sashima's decision and he initiated it and consented to it and that makes it rly nice. cuz altho they both want him for themselves, they decided to accept this arrangement cuz it makes HIM happy and thats what they both want the most. and they both get to love him and be loved by him. i would love this manga to stick to its guns and have the 3 of them be a polyamorous couple to the end. (i also dont think the alpha aoda being able to impregnate sashima makes him more valuable than taketora cause jus tbeing able to put a baby in someone doesnt mean you'll be a good dad, meanwhile taketora is SUCH a dad/mother hen type, like they would rly work great as a throuple both guys have their own pros and cons. and i can see why sashima wants Both. one makes him feel more comfortable and the other gets him more TURNT lol. its VALID! )
I have to respond:
I LOVE this, b/c you bring up a lot of points I felt, but didn't feel I could bring up unless I wrote a novel.
It WAS/IS Sashima's decision b/c there was a type of exposition where he was jerking himself off & had tons of different feelings about the romantic/sexual relationship he could have w/ both of these guys & ultimately he says he wants both (one for that comfort feeling & the other to.. satisfy the omega-trope desire, ultimately? Idk how to describe it well rn). And he does literally, face-to-face, tell them both, meet me here at this time nothing more/less, same info given to both parties involved, & they DO; not knowing what to expect at all, so they come w/ their own assumptions that it's a festival date & realize it isn't how Sashima'a viewing it, REAL quick.
You also bring up a good point of the baby-making aspect, which I find to be important for the Omega POV storytelling, b/c SEE THE TITLE & one of the chapters, he more or less condemns his body, saying, "This body that only wants to get pregnant," (someone correct the quote & add ch. if misquoted, plz) which is not indicative of how he feels/what he wants, he isn't driven by that baser drive, he wants more than that & says so in that last update, "Not as an omega," he wants them not b/c of what he is, but who he is & the relationships he's developed between the two.
It seems to be an unpopular opinion, but i actually really like this 3p
There's one of each, alpha/beta/Omega, & I've read a lot of omegaverse yaoi w/ alpha/Omega pairings & this doesn't seem that forced from my perspective. There's a level comfort with his childhood friend, but there's always that bond between alpha & omega, that's just the omegaverse trope (I've read a few w/ betas being w/ omegas too tho).
I think it's more realistic Sashima's come to see both guys as romantic partners considering his childhood friend was hiding how he felt until he thought Sashima was going to be used or taken away from him & then he acted. I finished reading Ch.4 going "No, no, no!" I DONT WANT SOMEONE TO HURT SASHIMA FOR HAVING THE MASTER KEY & I love how both guys know Sashima can take care of himself & come help him if he needs it, they don't trample on his pride as a person in that regard.
