Haneul literally means "Sky" in Korean and Hyunwoon means "cirrus" (a type of cloud) so their names are literal translations. The wordplay is very deliberate here and if they hadn't changed them the meaning would have been lost in translation.
I know Gwon-un is cirrus? I will ask my teacher for Korean about Hyunwoon... but I'm sure you are right, it only makes sense.
The whole comic has a theme going on. Cloud storage, their names - like how the clouds and the sky belong together. It's very deliberate.
The Korean character for Hyunwoon also uses the same character as "cirrus". I think the wordplay is really clever. Usually I wouldn't agree with name changes but it this case it makes alot of sense and adds more depth to the story
I looked at the raws and now what annoys me (after asshole's behavior) that Skyler name is actually "Haneul". Yes, Sky is the meaning but I thought it's weird his name is so American-like.
