It's interesting. In a way, Hinata is getting specialized training.
You learn a lot by observation and Hinata is the type that once he sees something he can understand it and learn from it and replicate it.
Also as ballboy he's learning how to receive balls. Which was something he lacked. He is also leaning how to guess the ball's path.
He is also learning to suffer humiliation and take it in stride and keep from being rambunctious.
These are all vital things that Hinata currently lacks.
