I think that because it was based off a visual novel this is seem rushed and incomplete. I've noticed that in other manga I've read based of VNs. I'm also going to assume that if you pick the boys path that the truth would have been revealed. But since this went on the default/main path, it was irrelevant.
No wonder...
She should have learned about the boy who followed her back in time and was then protecting her it probably would have been better it didn't really feel completed it feels a bit rushed especially the ending.
