From what I know, some kids go through a phase when they call their parents by name. Usually, Asian parents would shut that down immediately because it's extremely disrespectful. But, maybe Masaki likes it and encouraged it?
i call my dad by 1st name too..
Some people don't like being called that, I mean in my experience its more with grandma/grandpa (my great gran taught all her grand and great grand kids to call her Aunty)
But it might be that he thought it was "cooler" to have his son call him by name.

I can't call my parents or any family members that rank higher(aunt,grandparents etc) by their name. That would be so rude
1) why call him 'masaki' and not 'father' or 'dad'
2) did he had sex with 'masaki'??? if he did it would be interesting, don't you think... ^^
